Katy Perry Used To Sing Church Music

You probably know by now that we huge fans of Katy Perry around here. I don’t hide it, I’m in love with a girl that kissed a girl. While searching around this morning, I found out something very interesting…Katy Perry is Katy Hudson. Not only that, but she used to sing religious songs. Not something you would expect from a girl that has a top 10 hit on the Billboards about kissing a girl. Check her out as a blond while you listen to her 2001 ~~hit~~ single, “Faith Won’t Fail.” Below is some info I was able to dig up about her short lived career as a gospel singer.

The middle child of two pastor’s Perry grew up listening to gospel music and singing in church in CA. Perry was raised on a strict diet of church music; “secular music,” as her mother put it, was “not allowed.”

At least she didn’t go the Jessica -Joe Simpson route and end up under the controlling wing of a religious parent with nothing to do. One more reason we love Katy at Bunny With Fangs.
