Leak: Kanye’s “808’s & Heartbreak”

kanye Leak: Kanyes 808s & Heartbreak

So Kanye West’s new album, “808’s and Heartbreak” was leaked today. I went through it… kinda sucks. He uses that stupid voice thingy on literally every single song… a little too much if you ask me. Aside from his first two singles, “Love Lockdown” and “Heartless” there is only one other playable track — “Street Lights.” It reminds me a lot of The Postal Service. Oh, and btw, I found out that “808’s” refers to beats or something. Lame.

  1. im sorry ,but you must understand that this is Kanye pouring out his soul. so its not “lame”, its the only way he can express himself after, oh i dunno, his fiance left him and his mother died. the only 2 women in his life. shit, i would use a stupid autotune thing and sing too.

  2. You are an idiot. If you ANYTHING about music or had ANY taste in art/pop/music, you would know that

    a) that “stupid voice thingy” is called Auto-Tune. Do your homework.

    b) He utilizes this Auto-Tune to develop and execute MELODY which is a new facet in his repetoire.

    c) 808 is a reference to the bass sound originating from Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer, a beat machine. The term 808 is synonymous with low end bass, and by coincidence this album was recorded in Hawaii, where the area code is 808.

  3. Wow… who cares. this album sounds like hell and will only sell any copies because of his name. I promise you that only one more song will be a viable single for rotations on radio. Then he will fade out for a few years until he realizes that he needs to go to his original formula for making records. this album? FAIL.

  4. Eh- I gotta agree. The voice thingy is lame. Almost as lame as the a,b,c points put but by haha. But ok, the melodies are catchy and fun, but at what point won’t we accept an artist that can’t sing but uses auto tune to sound like britney? It’s not that the music’s bad, cause it’s not. I just think the auto tune craze courtesy of T-Pain, and really Dr. Dre circa the Chronic (that’s right, only Dre gets caps!) is stepping in a kind of cheezy and fake direction. But i guess in the end it doesn’t really matter. We all get some decent beats to shake it, and the industry gets all the fake junk they can devour, and we know they love that ish.

  5. This is beautiful. He’s like the Beatles, changing his style up and experimenting while he’s on top. I give him credit for actually taking a risk and experimenting, unlike all of the factory made uniform songs you hear from the record companies today. He’s pouring out his soul, and give him some credit.
