Universal confirmed the rating by noting, “On its first submission the film did not receive an R but it is far too early to say that there is any struggle to get there as the process is only at its inception.” The issue is that Universal refuses to release any movie with a NC-17 rating. Cohen is going to be forced to cut out the scenes that the MPAA deems inappropriate and save them for the unrated DVD. No worries, kids… it’s still scheduled to make its July 10th release date…
