It’s almost surreal that this show is over. I began watching it years ago with my friend Samantha (some of you might remember her as Rockstar back when I first started the site). Looking at the cast and how each member has moved on with their lives, I realize that I need to do the same. $Hit, we all need to do the same. Yea, Heidi’s show will be coming out soon, so we’ll all watch that. Life will never be the same as it was when the show started, for the cast or for the fans. Either way, it’s time to move on and make some new memories.
PS - I refuse to tell you how they end the show… but it’s shocking. Just wait for it. Kinda makes ya think.

I liked the ending though with the set etc.
That was so good, the last bit was kinda a let down showing that the Hills has a fake side to It.. The flash back of memories was sweet, I’m so happy for Lo. Pity LC wasn’t in the last episode. I wonder if Avril is Brodys new girl friend erg vomit.

There has been many speculations to whether the show was real or fake, I think that most of the time it was genuine, other times your left thinking WTF for example Stacey Kristen’s friend, at the start she was known as Stacey the bar tender, the infamous home wrecker dubbed by Stephanie Pratt over Heidi and Spencer. She was later introduced as Stacy Kristen’s friend, what a weird coincidence hmmm I think not.
You can put an end to the show but the reality is their lives will continue on without the cameras, MTV needed an ending and what better way to end it the way they did
SPOILER ALERT… FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT SEEN EPISODE YET…
WOOHHHHH… the ending was crazy.. did you hear wat kristen said wen she got back out of the car.. she said.. “bye” and he said passively, “are ya out of here” in which kristen said “yaa” and then they told walked away from eachother without even looking slightly sad.. which means they were 100 percent actin sad in that last episode
Feel a fool now cause i was starting to cry wen kris was gettin in the car and leaving.. ha!! even though I always new the hills was partly scripted.. I Still think they shouldnt have showed that ending though!!! on the set like!!!
shouldn’t of ended it like that; the viewer was feeling sympathy for Kristen and Brody situation and then to just have the set appear like that kind of makes you feel stupid. It wouldn’t have been soo bad if they hadn’t of shown clips from the past, coz that implies the WHOLE thing was fake, and kinda ruins the experience when you look back…

I think it was the BEST ending - it leaves us with the sadness etc., but then lets us know,’at the end of the day, its a television show!’ Even though for soo long its been a part of my life lol. Am sad i didnt get to see heidi and spencer - also would have been great to see lauren just one more time…

Ok Im going to be really dumb here can someone explain what the set ending was about? Does this mean the entire show was filmed on a set?? The whole thing was fake or just some scenes? I thought it was weird when they hugged that the hollywood sign was convienently placed in the background perfectly aligned between brody and kristin. I know the show had elements of fakeness but this ending seems like every scene was fake and nothing was genuine at all ever? Honestly yes I know how dumb I sound but can someone help me out.

yeah that was a crap ending, as u know it was always fake back in series 5 with spencer fake calling Lauren, which didnt happen. So i knew most of series 6 was made up, i mean come on their acting was terrible was so obvious. And i sure as hell didnt feel sorry for kirsten when brody screwed her over, as u saw at the ending it was all a set up! Kirsten even said in an interview it was all drama that was made up to entertain-more like send us to sleep! Ending was crap, as it proved to everyone the hills was fake start to finish.
Ahhhh it’s Thursday morning here & I am at work and need to wait ’til I get home to watch!! It’s going to drive me mad all day! Haha.

I actually liked the ending. Yes, it may have shattered some illusions but we all knew it wasn’t real and I think it was a great way to add a conclusion to so many different lives.

Im so sad its over! I have been watching these guys since Lagana Beach! I enjoyed this last episode but I want more ;( was expecting at least an hour finale.. Oh well!! Point: how can the set at the end match up with all of the cars/people five minutes before when Brody and Kristin are talking? Suddenly you have Brody standing in a small alley when before they were on a street…
I know that they obviously make some things more dramatic or add in background but that doesn’t mean the whole scene was staged

i am so gutted that the hills ended like this..thort most of it was fake but now i think the whole thing was a big drama!!
think the ending was genius
the cast have all suggested before that some of the stuff was real life & other things were exaggerated to keep people interested, which everyone knew anyway, so to deliberately finish like that was very wink wink tongue in cheek. i’ve watched since laguna and it increasingly became a weird kind of docu-fantasy, ignoring the cast’s increasing fame etc with the possible exception of spencer who’s too weird to not be real

Aw… Im so sad its all over, I really am. So weird that two years ago we all hated Kirstin but now I actually like her.
Hmmmm not sure about the ending, Ive mixed feelings. On one hand it is good as it answers all the “is it real or is it fake” questions oce and for all. Even though we knew it was fake its sad to think it actually is….. On the other hand I feel there wasnt any need to put the set into it. We could have finished the season full of sadness that it was all over, now its just like the end of any soap opera. In hindsight I think they should have eneded it when LC left, it didnt really go anywhere after that to be fair. Anyway, thanks so much for this.

i loved the ending - i thought it was a great play on critics and the general view on the hills. i loved it!
Was crying my eyes out and got chills when Natasha started singing and then when I saw the set, I felt like Id been mugged right off!!! Still sad but I would of prefered it with them just showing clips!!

very clever ending i think, poking fun at itself…Laguna was way more real then The Hills but I think the makers realised it had become more of a soap opera anyway…read LC’s books, pretty insightful!

WORST ENDING EVER. I LOVED THE HILLS AND THATS TOTALLY RUINED IT FOR ME!!
Oh, what an ending - tastefully done and truly put an end to the show with no possibility left of “will there be another season?” I think it’s great that they ended with exposing the acting side of it, I mean afterall it became pretty much obvious from season 3 onwards that if scenes weren’t created or scripted they were at least sketchy re-enactments. Kudos to K Cav for her Stephanie feud though - I know she said it was one of the hardest things to do was to accuse Steph of the drugs thing - I actually believed the beef (well partly) til they became like super BFFs!
They changed producers after the first 2 seasons right? Or was that Laguna Beach? hmm. Either way - the first 2 seasons of the Hills were PRICELESS - because of the actual emotion - the breakups, tears and jokes! Every season since then has been super entertaining even tho it was all moe obviously ‘fake’ and I’m gna miss having the characters in my life. Its true what somebody before has written - even though we didn’t know them, to have followed them through the start of their growing up experience to the point where they embark on a new part feels like an era we shared (im corny, i know haha!)
I am sooooooooooooo sad The Hills has ended:( It’s been around for so long. Thanks Meg for putting them up. I always looked forward to watching them every week. I am going to miss it
Loved the opening titles with old scenes from Laguna/The Hills. I cried when they showed the flashbacks at the end! I liked the ending, it was clever. Way better then just the standard ending of Kristin driving away + emotional voiceover. I wish it went for at least an hour though, it deserved a longer send off.
I’ve been watching Laguna/The Hills forever, it’s so sad it’s over but it’s definitely time.

I feel betrayed… my heart has been ripped out through my throat. I am the same age as these girls and have finished High School at the same time, I feel a real companionship and I started to tear up at the end when the montage appeared and the theme song, but then the carpet was pulled out from underneath me to find out it wasn’t real.
I never liked the idea of Kristin returning, and she introduced herself to JB at the wedding, even though Audrina had mentioned she had met her through one of JBs friend. She ruined it… faker

Loved the ending with the snapshots of each member from the begining and now (which included Lauren!!) but hated the VERY ending with the fake Hollywood backboard and then Kristen getting out of the car?!?! It TOTALLY made the whole thing look fake which I didn’t like as the whole programme has been pushing ‘it’s real’ hmmm…
Wow, did anyone else rewind to the ’stage’ bit to check if they had just seen correctly? I can’t believe the ending, I mean I like what they’ve done, but were they just fucking with us? Was it real or fake? I hope the cast speaks out to reveal the truth after all this is over!

For the record, I always have liked Kristin even back in laguna days and she was always painted as the bad guy when I don’t believe she wasn’t. She was with Stephen, and Lauren was the one who always had the feelings for him so if anything, The good girl was actually the bad girl! Peace out!

for them to reveal that the entire thing was fake wouldnt have been such a bad idea if they hadnt spent the WHOLE last episode showing how kristin was “leaving”
So ive just heard the full goss on the alternative ending, which will be a feature on the DVD when its released.
In the alternative ending, LC returns… After Brody has said goodbye to Kristen he returns back to his condo to find LC there, he hugs her and explains that hes just said goodbye to friend. The idea is that we then think that LC never really left, and that shes been there, in a relationship with Brody the whole time, as if she has been his secret girlfriend (rather than Avril Lavigne). They decided not to use this ending because they thought it would confuse viewers (Which I agree). But like I say it will apparently be available as a special feature on the DVD. xx

thanks meghan…i even had a bit of a cry! great show, hads its ups and downs but all up i really loved it and all the characters! so happy for step… after everything her stupid bro did to her she deserves to be happy and he is hot!!!!
Thanks Meghan for all of the posts. I love the ending of the show. It shows that it doesnt take itself too seriously - I know I never have, so tongue in cheek (I wonder where that saying originated from?) but it showed that montage of all the characters over the years which was quite touching as well.

That ending was so bizarre - are they implying that the whole thing was fake from start to finish? Because although it has been obvious that the last couple of seasons were fake (especially where Heidi and Spencer’s crappy acting came into it), I genuinely believed that the stories about Lauren and Heidi and Audrina were always true… Lauren just seemed so genuine. It was kinda obvious that as soon as Kristen joined the show, none of it was real anymore. I mean, hooking up with Justin Bobby and then Brody, and suddenly her and Audrina are friends again. BUT, what I will say is that if it was all fake with Brody, Kristen is one hell of an actress and should be given an oscar for her performance!!! Haha. So gutted it’s over, it’s the end of an era
