“AEROSMITH will not perform their Friday, August 7 show at the Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg, MB, Canada based on injuries AEROSMITH lead singer Steven Tyler sustained when he fell from the stage at Wednesday’s show at Buffalo Chip Campgrounds in Sturgis, SD. Additional details will be issued when they are available.”
Joe Perry’s wife Billie had a little more to say on the subject:
“When Steven was injured they knew he was in good hands and would be brought to Dr straight away. They have been doing this for almost 40 yrs. It was a big crowd. The house PA went down. Joe was told to stay on stage to make an announcement to the fans and not just leave them cold. Everyone around had walkie talkies and new Steven was going to Dr to Ambulance to Helicopter.1,2,3.That is why the band stayed put.Steven was being helped by I heard 5-7 security guards were would they have gotten in anyway. All of the band did Noe even see him fall. He hit his head and back. No concussion, stitches in head n back near shoulder. Broken shoulder. Yes he is very sore.We were all worried. Once he left it was difficult for people to contact one another due to bad cell service it made things even worse. The boys are back in Boston Steven will see his own Doctor tonight or tomorrow. No word on the tour when it will resume should know more very soon regarding this.”
