On the sun…
“I learned not to go in the sun early on in my career. A tan lasts for a week or two before it fades, and the sun is so damaging—it’s not worth it. I put sunscreen on my kids every day before school and before they play outside. They know the routine.”

On staying fit…
“You have to think about your whole body when you think about aging. In general, you have to be strong—and that starts with nutrition. I have a glass of milk with dinner every night. When I’m pregnant, I drink a liter of whole milk a day—my trainer would say that’s crazy, but it works for me.”

On stretch marks…
“I didn’t get stretch marks during my pregnancies, and I wasn’t even moisturizing myself like a maniac.”

On her family…
“I’m quite energetic, and I also have sweet children who don’t care that I just had another kid. They want to be into things and be loved and go in Ma’s bed when they get up early in the morning. So I’m always juggling the family and life with my husband.”

On being in love…
“I don’t flirt,” she says. “It’s disrespectful to your husband. I would never do that. I’m very devoted, and he’s the same.” To confirm their commitment, Klum, 36, and Seal, 46, hold an annual wedding ceremony and renew their vows. “We’re still for a minute and stare into each other’s eyes,” she says.

She and her kids all have Seal’s surname – though she continues to use Klum professionally – so “my husband, the children, and me, we’re now all one.” With children who are 5, 4 and 3 years old, and another who is 4 months old, Klum also expresses her joy with motherhood, describing giving birth as “blissful.”

“Everything is about love when you’re pregnant,” she says. “The baby’s being loved by you; the baby’s being loved by your husband, by the grandparents, by your children. And you’re being loved by everyone.”

On being a model…
“Models have a sell-by date. There are certain jobs I don’t do anymore, like the young, sexy, cute things for teenagers, or even 25-year-old girls. I go in a different bracket now.”
