Patrick Swayze Dies At 57

The summer of celebrity death continues… I am sad to report that today, Patrick Swayze died of complications from pancreatic cancer at the age of 57. His rep issued this statement, “Patrick Swazy passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months.” The sad thing is he had begun to appear better in recent pics… see here.

I think I am going to stay up all night and watch all his old movies. I mean, c’mon, man… Ghost, Point Break, To Wong Foo and let’s not forget to mention Dirty Dancing. Just sayin’… not too sure how many more celeb deaths I can handle this summer. Enough already!

Patrick Swayze Looks Almost Normal

Patrick Swayze has been spotted out and about and looking almost back to normal. He’s been fighting pancreatic cancer for a while now and there was a time where he looking like walking death. But now, he’s rocking the cowboy hat and he’s even put on some much needed weight (and a little bit of a tan). Yay for feeling better!

These photos of a very sick Patrick Swayze were taken only a few days ago… and he looks dead already. He hasn’t stopped smoking his usual few packs per day even though he’s undergoing chemo treatment for pancreatic cancer. He reminds me of one of those zombie thingies from I Am Legend. There should be a country-wide ban on selling him cigarettes…

Patrick Swayze Stops Treatment

According to The National Enquirer, Patrick Swayze has given up on all medical treatment. The 56-year-old is said to have made the decision after doctors told him there was little they could do to stop the progress of his illness, pancreatic cancer. This is one of the worst forms of the disease and most patients are given less than six months to survive.

A family friend told the Enquirer: ‘There’s nothing more doctors can do for him. We are down to the wire and the goal now is to keep Patrick comfortable. His condition is inoperable and they have stopped the chemo. He’s still losing weight and he’s very weak.’ The friend added: ‘Patrick regards himself as a cowboy, and is determined to die with his boots on and no regrets.’ In an interview earlier this month Swayze spoke of his prognosis, with the words: ‘I’d say five years is wishful thinking. Two years seems likely if you’re going to believe the statistics.’
