Before Kanye West rushed the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards, the singer was filmed on the awards show’s red carpet drinking Hennessey cognac straight from the bottle. Now, the next logical thing has happened: people are talking about West going to rehab.

Star magazine and other publications are reporting that West is blaming alcohol for his breach in decorum, and that as soon as West wraps his “Fame Kills” tour with Lady Gaga this January, he’ll head to rehab.

West hasn’t blogged about it, there was no comment from his camp, and friends close to West say it’s not true, so maybe this is just the product of a game of telephone gone awry during a slow news week.

The source claims Timberlake, 28, and the Umbrella star, 21, have been meeting together in New York.

It is not the first time the pair have enjoyed time together after JT helped out the Barbadian beauty in a raunchy video shoot during her third album Good Girl, Gone Bad.

Timberlake is also lending his skills to the star’s next record, which could be a good reason for the sightings.

Only this week he spoke about their time in the studio together telling: ‘The stuff we’ve come up with in the studio, it’s the next step for her. It’s a little more grown-up. It’s got some edge to it.’

But the mole also alleges playful Rihanna recently gave Timberlake a lap dance at the 10ak night spot in NYC.

The claims come after Timberlake was accused by Lindsay Lohan of being a ‘cheater’ on Twitter after he was spotted dancing on a bar table with a mystery woman earlier this year.

He also put in a lip-lock photo opportunity with Biel, 27, at a basket ball game after he was accused of ‘acting like a single guy’ at a party thrown by ex Kate Hudson.

A spokeswoman for Rihanna would not comment on her personal life and Justin Timberlake’s representatives did not return our emails.

“She wanted to get away from Deryck and have a weekend to herself,” says a source close to the “Sk8er Boi” singer. A spy at celebrity eatery Georgica indeed saw Lavigne getting away - but hardly spending any time alone. Instead, says the onlooker, she was partying hard and hanging with a number of male admirers. Only later in the evening did Lavigne get paranoid about what the nearby paparazzi may have captured on film. “She kept running up to the photographers and asking to see the pictures they took,” says one party goer. (We’ve noticed that those photos have mysteriously disappeared from at least one site on which they were posted.)

Trouble has been brewing since early this year for Lavigne and Whibley, who haven’t been photographed together since last December - and things have gotten significantly colder between the two since the summer heated up. Whibley attended the L.A. premiere of “Transformers” solo on June 22, while his missus jetted off to Saint-Tropez for a week with her girlfriends. One vacationer at the celeb-studded Riviera getaway spilled that she was definitely enjoying the paradise and pina coladas, perhaps a little bit too much.

So what does this mean for Lavigne’s upcoming album, which her Sum 41 husband was supposed to be helping her with?

Industry insiders say that although the two have already worked together on a few tracks for the CD, due out Nov. 17, Lavigne will be going ahead with it solo - just like her weekend in the Hamptons.

Reps for both Lavigne and Whibley didn’t respond to calls for comment.
