At Warped Tour, the crowds are always more than willing to do whatever the bands ask while they are on stage…and ask they did. Of the 10-ish bands I actually stopped and listened to, about 8-ish of them hand some sort of hand gesture for the crowd to do. It’s like watching a cult in action. I figured the day was all about non-conforming, so I refused to participate in the hand gestures. Well…okay…I’ll be honest, I really didn’t think about non-conformists much that day…I was just holding beer and didn’t want to spill it because it cost a freaking arm and a leg.

There were these police towers about 50 feet in the air. They looked like those things they use to work on street lights. It was so big brother-ish and it really creeped me out. At one point, the cop was leaning out of it smoking and I couldn’t help but stare…I was praying that he would spit on one of those annoying frat boys, but he didn’t.

I forgot to mention that Katy Perry graced us with her presence towards the end of the night. Her tent was bright pink and you could see it from a mile away. She did a signing at one point and the place was packed. Her show was awesome and she definitely out-performed plenty of other bands. I got some video for you to check out. Can’t lie…a few of the Simple Plan guys are pretty hot. I was chatting it up with Chuck, the drummer. I was supposed to take him to his hotel to shower, but I never had to. When he met me and found that out…he made cheesy passes all night. I wasn’t gonna fall for the ‘emotional dude in the band from Montreal act’…I’ve seen it before. (Well, you know, not the whole ‘from Montreal’ part…but still). I pointed him in the direction of a groupie…a groupie that was coincidentally being whored our by her boyfriend who was trying very hard to get in with the band and we still can’t figure out why.

At one point, I ventured away to get a beer (the guys were only drinking vodka…totally not my thing…). When I headed back into the VIP area, Pierre, the lead singer, pointed to me and said, “Her.” I didn’t get what he was saying until I had this little blond chick in my face trying to kiss me. I literally had to push her off…I turned around and my friends were cracking up cause they saw it coming and gave me no warning…@$$holes.

It was an interesting night and I got a few random pics. If you are a fan of Simple Plan I recommend at least trying to talk to them cause your chances are good that they’d at least buy you a drink.

There is very little in my life that keeps me smiling. More often than not alcohol and music top my list daily and some how I end up at a bar at 5:31. Pandora has been failing me lately (something about Patsy Cline showing up on my Panic station is not kosher). My new fav thing is Katy Perry. I know I’ve posted about her in the past and I am going to keep posting because I am a girl in love with a girl. She is amazing and today her CD is available. So go forth and purchase.
